Dreamforce 2026: what marketers need to know

Dreamforce 2026 brought tens of thousands of Trailblazers back to San Francisco, and as always, there was no shortage of big names, bold ideas, and announcements across the Salesforce ecosystem. This year’s event offered plenty for marketers to take note of, from new AI-powered capabilities to evolving approaches to content discovery and customer engagement. Here are a few of the Marketing Cloud Next developments we think will have the biggest impact on marketers.
What we’re most excited about
Campaign Agent should immediately resonate with any marketing team that has spent hours assembling audiences, coordinating content, and manually optimizing sends. That work can now be handed to an agent operating within the boundaries you define.
The way we think about segmentation is changing. Rather than defining exactly who will receive a campaign, marketers can define who is eligible and let the agent handle the rest. For marketers, it’s a shift from managing lists to managing outcomes. For customers, the result is more relevant and thoughtful engagement.
Palmata speaks to something we’ve been talking about with clients for a while now: how customers discover and consume content is changing quickly as AI engines increasingly become the first stop in the buyer journey. If your content isn’t structured for those engines to find, understand, and cite, you’re invisible in a channel that’s growing every day.
Built by Salesforce’s recent acquisition of Contentful, Palmata is an Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) tool that gives marketers visibility into how AI systems actually perceive their brand. It shows how often a brand is cited, how it compares to competitors, and what content gaps may be driving the difference. It also surfaces recommended actions, and with the Contentful and Claude integration, those changes can flow directly to your website through a headless CMS.
A few more items worth noting
Salesforce also announced several additional capabilities within Marketing Cloud Next. Here are a few honorable mentions we’re eager to dive into with our clients:
Personalized paths: Every customer gets a personalized campaign experience, with the agent selecting content variations based on individual signals in real time.
Headless marketing via MCP: This allows marketers to work with Marketing Cloud in plain language from any surface. Journeys, flows, and messaging are all accessible through conversational prompts without ever opening the application.
Budget optimization agent: Set the goal, and this agent handles reallocating budget across channels to improve campaign outcomes automatically.
Let’s keep the conversation going
Curious what these announcements mean for your marketing strategy specifically? We’d love to help you think it through.
